What WORKDAYS and NETWORKDAYS leave out

monday.com's WORKDAYS formula skips weekend days but not public holidays, so each holiday in the span is counted as a working day. A spreadsheet's NETWORKDAYS can skip holidays, but only from a list someone types in and keeps up to date every year. In May 2026, Germany has three public holidays on weekdays: a count that ignores them is three days too long.

Are both dates counted?

Yes. Monday to Friday of one week is 5 working days.

Which holidays are left out?

The public holidays of the country you choose: the US federal holidays, the bank holidays of England and Wales, the holidays observed across all of Germany, the French public holidays, or Israel's holidays from the Hebrew calendar. Regional holidays, such as those of a single German state, are not included.

What if a holiday falls on a weekend?

It is counted once, as a weekend day. Where the law moves it to a weekday, as with US observed days and UK substitute days, that weekday is left out instead.

Does monday.com's WORKDAYS formula skip holidays?

No. WORKDAYS skips weekend days only, so every public holiday in the span counts as a working day.

Are the dates sent anywhere?

No. The count runs in your browser, and the dates you enter stay there.
