Find stalled deals in monday CRM
A deal rarely dies in a day. It sits in Proposal sent for a week, then two, while everyone assumes someone followed up. On a busy pipeline, the deals that go quiet are the hardest ones to see.
The short answer
A deals board keeps each deal's stage, and its activity log holds every change. What a pipeline review needs on top is two numbers on every deal: days in the current stage and days since anyone touched it. Stale & SLA writes both onto the deals board, flags deals that have gone quiet, and can notify the deal's owner when a stage runs past its target.
What "stalled" means on a pipeline
- Too long in a stage: a deal in Proposal sent for 14 days when most move on within 5.
- No activity: nobody moved the stage, edited a column or updated the deal for days.
- A follow-up promise missed: the team promised a reply within 2 working days of a demo.
What monday CRM covers, and what a column adds
monday CRM keeps the stage on every deal, logs every change, and its automations can notify someone when a date arrives; recent versions add AI insights about slow stages. What a column adds is the number itself on every deal, so you can sort the pipeline by it, filter on it in a meeting, and start monday.com automations from it.
How Stale & SLA does it on a deals board
Point the app at the stage column of the deals board. Every deal gets Days in current status and Days since last activity, read from the board's activity log, so deals that existed before you installed the app get their numbers too.
Set a stale threshold, such as 7 days, and the trigger When an item has had no activity for N days can notify the deal's owner. An SLA target per stage, such as 2 working days in Demo done, marks deals at risk and then breached, and the escalation ladder can notify the owner first and the sales manager a few days later. With business hours on, weekends and holidays do not count, so a Friday demo is not late on Monday morning.
Frequently asked
- Does it work on a monday CRM deals board?
- Yes. The deal stage is a status column, and the app works on any board with a status column.
- Does a deal count as stale while it waits on the customer?
- Only if you want it to. The stale check runs in the stages you choose, so a stage such as Waiting on customer can be left out.
- Will it change my deals?
- No. It writes only the numbers columns it creates, and posts an update on a deal only when an escalation step says so.
Stale & SLA adds time in status, stale alerts, SLA targets and escalations to any monday.com board. Set-up takes about two minutes per board.
